Soccer

Cole is now old enough to start his activities. Like soccer, football and maybe piano, big debate in the Eberhart household. More on that later. Anyway, Cole started playing soccer this year. I am very excited about since I love soccer. Mitchell is not to enthused at all. There was no influence on my part in his decision to play soccer. Mitchell tried everything to get him to choose baseball instead. This is how the conversation went:

Mitchell: Soccer sucks, baseball is cool.
Cole: I know soccer sucks Dad but I still want to play.
Mitchell: Why don't you play baseball.
Cole No Dad I want to play soccer.

I am very proud of the boy for knowing what he wanted and didn't let anyone change his mind. I always wanted to be a soccer Mom, now I am and Mitchell is begging me not to put one of those "Soccer Mom" stickers on the back of the jeep. That is undecided. Of course the Easlon kids all play soccer and that may be why he chose it. He loves it though. He had his first game a few weeks ago and it was a trainwreck. They are only four and have plenty of time to improve. Cole played goalie in the first quarter and got hit in the stomach with the ball several times. He refuses to be goalie now, which is ok with me. He likes to run so he is better on the field. I have high hopes that by the end of the season his team will score a goal. Cole is # 7. He was hoping for # 8 like Uncle Kendall but he found out that his friend Cason was # 7 as well and he was ok with it. 7 is a good # to have per Uncle Kendall. Their team name is the Tornadoes. All in all I think Cole will learn what soccer is all about and get some good exercise in the proccess.
