Babysitting

We babysat Justin and Dane while Brandon tried to get back home from running off to get married. We took them shopping and to eat at El Chico. I got so great pics playing with my new camera.

Coles new do

It has been a while since I have posted anything. I got a new camera so it has taken me a while to get the time to figure everything out. Now that the holidays are coming to an end I have a little time. Cole's hair is getting long so I decided to try and spike it, like Uncle Kendall. It was very cute but only lasted about two hours. I got some pics before we went to church. He was a big hit at church.

Growing Up

My husband is now working for BNSF which is an opportunity that you cannot pass up. So far the one and only downfall to this new job is having to be gone so much. He leaves on Monday morning and comes home sometime on Friday. I am learning to live on my own with a three year old. It is not so bad. I have lots of friends and family around me. I am 29 and having to really grow up. We survived our first thunderstorm by ourselves last night. That is a big step for me because I am scared of storms and now have a three year old that is scared of them. We come by it honest though, if anyone has ever met my Mom you know she is scared of storms as well. I am learning new things every day. I was having sink problems so Krammer came over tonight and showed me how to unclog the kitchen sink. I think I can do it next time. If I can't the Burgesses know everything and have everything. There are several handymen in my life. My brother-in-law Brandon has been over twice, once to fix the front door and once to winterize my house. If Cole would stop using the door as a trapeze there would not have been a problem I learned you have to winterize your house. If it is really going to snow tonight or whenever I am might have to learn how to drive the jeep. If there are any volunteers that would teach me how to drive a standard, that would be great. Mitchell has tried before but a husband should not teach a wife this particular thing. I am sure there is much more for me to learn. Mitchell has only been at this new job a little over a month. Prayer works wonders.

Winter Wonderland

Sunday was a good day. We went down to The Colony to see Grandpa and Grammy. From there we went to Bell Helicopter Holiday in the Park. It was a winter wonderland inside there customer center. Mitchell and Cole decorated sugar cookies. There was so much icing and candie on Cole's that Mitchell didn't even eat it. He tried, but just couldn't do it. Then they both rode the carousel. Cole wanted to ride the giraffe but the kid in front of him got there first. We tried to write a letter to Santa but Cole is not quite into that yet. We did come home with a cute blank sheet of paper. There were lots of places for great picture opportunities. I snapped a few. There were a few helicopters to see which is really what Cole wanted to focus on. He loves Helicopters. It comes in handy that Grandpa works at Bell. In the lobby there were several model helicopters that Cole tried to touch. The real ones he just stood back and looked and didn't even want to sit in one, just look.

There are Christmas lights up on our house. We are one out of four houses on our street that even have lights outside. We do have several older people on our street so I don't blame them for not wanting to put up lights. I love lights on houses. This year I put garland and lights around the front door.

Christmas Parade

Last night we went to the Gainesville Christmas Parade. I have to be honest, it was not that great. There were very few floats or anything pertaining to Christmas. When it was all over we could not get anywhere because people were all over the place. We could have gotten out of the parking lot and onto the highway from a Ranger game faster. Brandon and the boys met us there. All three of the boys had fun running around the lamp post and pressing the button to walk across the street. I got a few good pics.

We are trying to stay warm.

My New Hat

Mitchell got a bogin and gave it to Cole. It is a BNSF one. Cole wore it to church the other day for the first time and was so proud of it he told everyone he saw that dadda got it for him and that it was from the railroad. He was cute.

Randomness

Our son says the most random things. Tonight on the way home from church he says that Grandpa & Grammy have a pool, which is true. Then he says that the pool is dry, it has been drained. I don't know where he came up with that.

He also has an imaginary friend. For those of you that don't know, his name is the man. I was introduced to the man right around last Christmas when Mitchell went to Colorado to visit his parents. I was in my room getting ready for bed when Cole comes in and says, "The man is here." Freaky right. Every since then the man just randomly shows up and Cole talks to him. I hate scary things so I don't care for the man.

Cole is going to hate me for this when he is about sixteen but I have discovered that he is very talkative when he is in the bathroom doing his business. He will tell you all about his day. It makes me laugh.

More randomness to come I'm sure.

Happy Third Birthday

Today was Cole's third birthday. Last year by this time we had already gone to the emergency room for six stitches above his right eye and got blood all over his and my new Dallas Cowboy t-shirts. We were all wearing our t-shirts because the Cowboys were playing the Packers that night. Mitchell got a speeding ticket trying to get to the hospital from Denton. He got it dismissed. Marcus took us to the ER. Thanks Koose.
Anyway, today was lots better. His party was this morning. We had a great turnout. The theme this year was monster tucks. Now the house is over-run with them. Cole got lots of great stuff. Uncle Matt and Uncle Brandon got the same gift bags. That's ok guys. Ayden did not want to be at the party but sometimes little guys just don't feel well. We understand all too well. Cole had to much cake and root beer today. All is well though cause sweets don't phase him. He is already hyper all the time anyway. We had a good day.

Thanksgiving

We had all full day yesterday to celebrate Thanksgiving. We went to church to help with the annual Thanksgiving Day meal. Cole was a big help, he held the door open for people coming in. He also discovered the surveillance cameras on the front porch of the church and the monitor in the kitchen. He thought he was on TV. It was cute. After that we went to Grandma's for lunch, that Tasha and I prepared. That night we went the Naynay & Papa's for dinner and to watch the Cowboys, of course. All in all it was a pretty good day.

"The Game Plan" drama

So about two weeks ago we rented the movie The Game Plan with "The Rock" and Cole loved it. Well we had to take it back to Blockbuster and Cole did not like that so much. He could not understand why Uncle Matt took his movie from him, Uncle Matt manages Blockbuster. Sorry Uncle Matt. He asked to watch the game DVD for two days until I gave in and took him to Blockbuster and bought the movie. Now Cole thinks Uncle Matt bought him the movie and he loves him again. Well from that day on Cole has watched that movie at least two times a day, more if I would let him. I sat down with him this morning and watched it. I discovered that our three year old son can almost quote the entire movie. If any of you know Mitchell at all you know that he comes by that gift honestly. Here are some pics of Cole watching his new favorite movie and dancing along with the music in it.

Bye Bye motorcycle

We sold the motorcycle. I am happy about that. There was no need for that thing to just be sitting in our garage collecting dust and taking up space. One last look.

We love Christmas

So we put up our Christmas Tree yesterday. Cole was so excited that he got to help this year, he was extra crazy all day. We let him pick out a new ornament and he chose a football with a Dallas Cowboy star on it. He proudly put it on the tree first. A little tidbit you all may not know about Cole is that he is scared of any sort of tree or shrubbery touching him, so it took a few try's to get close to the tree. Now he won't stay away from it. We went to the Ft. worth Zoo a few months ago and he screamed very loudly when a tree branch brushed his arm. Mitchell put lights on the house. Cole was a big help.

Our New Blog

OK, so Tasha is a blogger now and her viewers love it and have suggested several times that I should start one as well so they can keep up with our lives. I give up, so here we go. I hope you enjoy.
