Costume Parade

Cole and all his classmates had a costume parade at school so everyone could see what they were going to be for Halloween. Cole was very excited that he was getting to wear his costume to school. They not only got to wear their costumes, the church also provided pizza for lunch. Two great things in one day! There were lots of cute costumes. I took some pictures with my camera and some with my phone. As soon as I learn how to download onto the computer from the phone you will be able to see those as well. Cole was Spiderman this year. Not as creative as last year but still pretty cute.

Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch

This Monday we went over to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch with Cole's school. It was fun. There were blow-up slides and bounce houses, which was Cole's favorite part. There were wooden cut-outs of all sorts of cartoon characters you could get your picture made with. We went on a hayride and got to stop and pick a pumpkin to take home. Cole got a snow cone. Which brings me to something I have noticed, all the snow cone stands around here are open all year long. I think that makes snow cones not as special for the summer time. In Gainesville it was a very special day when you finally saw the snow cone stand set up for the summer. Anyway, We climbed on hay bales and walked around the pumpkin patch. There were lots of pumpkins. We picked a few of the little ones to bring home with us. One for each of us, including Isabella. Cole picked out the smallest one he could find for her. We had a picinic with Coles class and the moms that came. It was a good day. I had to force Cole to leave. He wants to go back so Mitchell can go with us. They also have a Christmas thing there that we might have to check out. By the way Cole is squinting in most of the pictures but there was nothing I could do about it, the sun was really bright that day.

Fall Festival

Last weekend we went to The New Creation Preschool Fall Festival. Which is one of three we will be attending this year. There was lots to do. For the kids there was a petting zoo, a blow up slide, lots of games and face painting. Cole really liked the petting zoo but was chasing the animals into a frenzy so he didn't stay there long. His favorite thing was, of course, the big blow up slide. I took a few pictures but was inside helping get things ready for dinner and the auction. The kids sang a few songs before dinner was served. As many of you have seen Cole does not do very well at singing in front of a crowd even though he knows the songs and sings them at home. Well things have changed since last year. He did great. Much of the time he was the only one you could hear singing and he was doing the motions and having so much fun. We were amazed. Much improvement from last years performances.

The Fighting Irish

Cole has always known that he wanted to play football, by always I mean the whole four years he has been with us. Last year he tried soccer cause he was still too young for football. He liked it ok but really was just waiting till football came around. This year he could finally play. We got him signed up with the Saginaw Youth Association. So far I love the experience we have had with SYA. The coaches are great and the parents are great. He has a great coach and we have an amazing team Mom. All the dads that can make it out to the practices are assistant coaches so that means there are always at least the coach and four other guys out there teaching the kids. Cole has learned a lot about football and about the importance of stretching and exercise. Which all of this is really good to learn so young. Last week they learned the art of intimidation. It was very cute!

Friday was the kick off of the football season. There was a pep rally for the boys with the Fighting Irish cheerleaders. Yes, every team has there own cheerleaders that travel with them. The girls got the boys little gifts for good luck. Then Saturday was Cole's very first game. He is on a traveling team which means we had to get up at 6:00am to travel and be there thirty minutes before the game. That's ok though. Cole is unlike Grandma in his ability to wake up early. He woke up and got dressed like a champ. Thank you God! Well we all got there and there was no one else there. This week there was a little mix up in the scheduling so we were there an hour and a half early for the game. That's ok though, the boys warmed up and practiced a little and the coach went and bought them donuts. After all that running and playing they went out and played very well. Cole played almost the entire game. They won by one touchdown in the last minute of the game. Coach Steve promised they donuts every week if they would go out and play as well as they did. At this age there really are no winners and no losers but you cannot help but keep score, plus the team mom kept score.

Pee Wee flag football is so exciting! If you have a chance to come out and watch please do.

The whole team fixing to run.

I know this is a bit gross but this is what Cole's mouth piece looked like after the game. Until he learns not to chew on it throught he entire game we have to buy him a new one every week.

No Training Wheels

Mitchell and I told Cole this weekend that he would not be getting a dirt bike until he learned to ride his bike without the training wheels. There is really no need for a two wheel dirt bike if you do not know how to ride one. He thought that he would try. Him and Mitchel went outside and took his training wheels off his bike. Mitchell tried his best to explain how to ride without them. He even got on the bike and demonstrated. So we will try each weekend when Mitchell comes home and see how it goes. Needless to say it might be next year before Cole gets his dirt bike.

And Grandma, he will be getting a dirt bike so if you have a problem please take it up with Grandpa. Sorry. The boy really does want a dirt bike!
