The Fighting Irish

Cole has always known that he wanted to play football, by always I mean the whole four years he has been with us. Last year he tried soccer cause he was still too young for football. He liked it ok but really was just waiting till football came around. This year he could finally play. We got him signed up with the Saginaw Youth Association. So far I love the experience we have had with SYA. The coaches are great and the parents are great. He has a great coach and we have an amazing team Mom. All the dads that can make it out to the practices are assistant coaches so that means there are always at least the coach and four other guys out there teaching the kids. Cole has learned a lot about football and about the importance of stretching and exercise. Which all of this is really good to learn so young. Last week they learned the art of intimidation. It was very cute!

Friday was the kick off of the football season. There was a pep rally for the boys with the Fighting Irish cheerleaders. Yes, every team has there own cheerleaders that travel with them. The girls got the boys little gifts for good luck. Then Saturday was Cole's very first game. He is on a traveling team which means we had to get up at 6:00am to travel and be there thirty minutes before the game. That's ok though. Cole is unlike Grandma in his ability to wake up early. He woke up and got dressed like a champ. Thank you God! Well we all got there and there was no one else there. This week there was a little mix up in the scheduling so we were there an hour and a half early for the game. That's ok though, the boys warmed up and practiced a little and the coach went and bought them donuts. After all that running and playing they went out and played very well. Cole played almost the entire game. They won by one touchdown in the last minute of the game. Coach Steve promised they donuts every week if they would go out and play as well as they did. At this age there really are no winners and no losers but you cannot help but keep score, plus the team mom kept score.

Pee Wee flag football is so exciting! If you have a chance to come out and watch please do.

The whole team fixing to run.

I know this is a bit gross but this is what Cole's mouth piece looked like after the game. Until he learns not to chew on it throught he entire game we have to buy him a new one every week.

No Training Wheels

Mitchell and I told Cole this weekend that he would not be getting a dirt bike until he learned to ride his bike without the training wheels. There is really no need for a two wheel dirt bike if you do not know how to ride one. He thought that he would try. Him and Mitchel went outside and took his training wheels off his bike. Mitchell tried his best to explain how to ride without them. He even got on the bike and demonstrated. So we will try each weekend when Mitchell comes home and see how it goes. Needless to say it might be next year before Cole gets his dirt bike.

And Grandma, he will be getting a dirt bike so if you have a problem please take it up with Grandpa. Sorry. The boy really does want a dirt bike!

Cole's New School

Since we moved to Ft. Worth I had to find a new pre-school for Cole to go to. We loved the Learning Tree so it was hard to have to find a new one. I looked at a few that I did not like at all. The week before school started I finally found one that I really liked. So now Cole goes to the Holy Shephard Lutheran Church and Pre-School. His first day was Sept 1st.He goes every Monday and Wednesday for 5 hours. There are thirteen girls and three boys in his class along with two teachers. He went in his first day like a champ. He was very excited because they have a tree house inside the classroom. At the end of his first day we went and had a treat at Tutti Fruiti. That is a yogurt place near our house. then for dinner I made him Spaghetti Tacos. Only if you regularly watch the show iCarly would you know what that was. Be glad you don't. Its going to be a long fun filled year. I am excited because his class will be taking a trip to a local pumpkin patch. As many of you know, I really like pumpkins. For those of you that don't know, I really like pumpkins so I'm going on that field trip. I already have all my pumpkin decorations out. Anyway they have many fun things planned for the school year. Cole has lots to learn this year to be ready for Kindergarten. This year he also had to have a backpack and a lunchbox. He got to choose which ones he wanted. As you will be able to see he chose an Iron man backpack and a Star wars lunchbox.

Spaghetti Tacos, literally a taco shell with spaghetti in it.

The big move

So sorry it has been so long since I posted anything new. We have been a bit busy. The month of July and August went by very fast for us. We put our house on the market in July. Within two weeks we had an offer on it. That meant we had to find a new place for us. We moved to Ft. Worth, well Haslet is where we moved. That is North Ft. Worth. It is still growing out here. Anyway we found a great house within a week of looking. Signed all paperwork and then the wait was on for closing. Our closing date on the old house and the new house was Aug. 24th. We had to be out of our house that same day. Once the inspections and appraisals were done then the packing began. We decided, because we didn't want to make multiple trips, to rent a 26 ft. uhaul. Cole was so excite about getting to ride in the uhaul to our new house. Almost everything fit into the uhaul. There were a couple are vehicles that were loaded down as well. Everything went so well. We were lucky to close on the day they told us we would. It was touch and go for a few hours but everything worked out just fine. I found a place for Cole to play his first year of flag football and finally found a place for him to go to preschool. More on those two later. Here are just a few pictures of the outside of our new house. Pictures of the inside will come when there are not boxes all over the place.

Thank you to all of you that made our move a lot easier!
